CATEGORIES OF INFORMATION WE COLLECT

We may collect the below categories of personally identifiable information (“PII”) and non-personally identifiable information (“non-PII”) when you access our Site:

  • Personal identifiers, such as your name, email address, and device IP address.
  • Contact information, such as your email address.
  • Internet or electronic network activity, such as your browsing history, search history, and interactions with our Site and content.
  • Geolocation information from your device browser IP address.
  • Internet of Things (IoT) information, such as your device IP address, operating system, internet service provider, and other related identifiers.

HOW WE COLLECT THE INFORMATION ABOVE

The PII and non-PII collected when you interact with our Site may be collected in at least two ways:

  • Information provided by you: Most pieces of PII are willingly provided by you when you fill out forms on our Site. This includes when you use the Contact form or subscribe to our newsletter.

It is not mandatory to provide us with any information when you interact with this Site. However, it may be impossible to provide our services without the required information.

  • Information collected automatically: Other PII and non-PII information is collected automatically when you access this Site or interact with its pages. This information may include server log files like (device browser IP Address, browser type, geolocation, sources of visits, pages accessed, etc.). We use Shopify’s analytics suite to collect this information automatically. Shopify may embed it with cookies, beacons, pixels, tags, and other tracking technologies (collectively “Cookies”), which are responsible for the collection of information automatically.

COOKIES AND TRACKING TECHNOLOGIES

As highlighted above, PII and non-PII collected automatically are possible through the use of third-party analytical tools and Cookies from Shopify and other third-party service providers.

Cookies are tiny codes attached to your browsing device immediately after you access any website or interact with its pages or content. Cookies are not harmful to your device – they are only capable of performing tasks, such as gathering analytics, usage, and other automatically collected information. They are also used for other activities, including making certain pages work, enabling user navigation, improving user experience, and gathering information for marketing.

As highlighted, Cookies are currently deployed on the Site by Shopify and some other third-party service providers to perform their services for us (for example, Shopify uses Shopify Analytics to provide us with information about how users anonymously interact with our Site and content).

Cookies may be of two types in terms of how long they last on your device. They can be “Session” or “Persistent.” Session Cookies automatically expire after a browsing session – i.e., when you close your browser. Persistent Cookies, on the other hand, do not expire after a browsing session. They have their set duration depending on their use. They may range from minutes to months.

If you do not want your interaction on any website to be anonymously tracked, you can prevent that by blocking Cookies. You can block Cookies by using the privacy settings of your device browser. This control may vary on different browsers; so, you may need to look closely (for example, you can control Cookies on Google Chrome by going to settings > privacy and security). Please be aware that blocking certain Cookies, such as necessary Cookies, may render your experience on the Site less smooth.

HOW WE USE THE INFORMATION

In summary, we collect PII and non-PII to provide our services and support, comply with the law, and safeguard the Site. More descriptively, we collect and use your information specifically for the following purposes:

  • We collect your name and email address on the Contact us page so we can reply to your questions, inquiries, complaints, and any other requests.
  • We collect the email address you provide in our newsletter form to send you updates and news as per your subscription.

We may collect information automatically for the following reasons:

  • To gain insights into how many visits we have in a period and from what region the visits are coming;
  • To understand which of our pages and products visitors are interacting or interested in;
  • To improve your experience and grow our offerings;
  • To secure the Site from spam, abuse, bots, and attacks;
  • To monitor violations of our Site or applicable laws;
  • To enforce our Terms and Conditions; and
  • To conduct business audits.

HOW WE MAY SHARE INFORMATION

We care about your privacy. We do not engage in the traditional sale of information to third parties for “their” direct marketing purposes. Nevertheless, we may share your information under the following circumstances:

  • Third-party service providers: We may share PII with third-party companies who help us with services such as marketing, data storage, and website hosting. These entities may access your PII and non-PII to perform their tasks for us. However, they have an obligation to use your information only for the services they are contracted for.
  • Internal Stakeholders: ZICOTO comprises employees, officers, staff, the board, and other internal stakeholders. These individuals may access your information on a need-to-know basis. Internal stakeholders are bound by confidentiality agreements.
  • Law Enforcement: We may share PII and non-PII with law enforcement as required by law or in response to legal responses such as court orders and subpoenas.
  • Other companies in a Business Transfer: We may be required to share your information with any company we are involved with concerning the sale of assets, merger, or acquisition, consolidation, or a case of bankruptcy.

EMAIL MARKETING

Where you show your interest – i.e., when you subscribe – we may send you promotional and marketing emails to your specified email address. You may subscribe by submitting your email address in the email newsletter form on the Site.

By subscribing to our marketing emails, you consent to receiving promotional emails from us. You can always opt out of such emails at any time by using the “unsubscribe” link provided at the bottom of any of our emails.

HOW WE SECURE YOUR INFORMATION

We take the security of your information seriously. Our Site is built on Shopify – an industry giant. We utilize their data security and storage services. Shopify uses various built-in security features to protect your PII from unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, and use. All PII transmitted between your device and our servers is secured using Secure Socket Layer (SSL) Encryption – keeping third-party interference away.

Furthermore, we always look out for ways to ensure adequate protection is applied to your information. Our measures are constantly being updated to meet the latest standards.

However, while we take significant measures to protect PII from unauthorized access and use, be aware that it may not always be effective to handle all attempts. No method of data transmission over the Internet is entirely secure.

HOW LONG WE RETAIN YOUR INFORMATION

We retain the information we collect until the purposes for which we collect it are achieved – unless applicable laws require a longer period. Unless you request that we delete your information, we retain those provided via forms for the duration needed to comply with the law and attend to claims. We retain information from analytics and usage information for the duration necessary for us to analyze trends, improve our services, and analyze statistics.

USER RIGHTS AND CHOICES

Depending on your location in the United States, you may have some or all of the rights described below (this is in addition to other rights and choices already established under this Privacy Policy). Please note that these rights and choices are not absolute. They may apply in certain circumstances, and in certain cases, we may decline them as permitted by law or for legitimate purposes.

  • Right to access: You have the right to request access to the PII we hold about you, including details relating to how we use and share it. We have collected the categories of information described under this Privacy Policy in the past calendar year.
  • Right to delete: You may have a right to request that we delete the PII we maintain about you. You can exercise this right by reaching out to us at help@zicoto.com. Please note that the deletion of your PII is absolute. We may retain certain PII for business continuity purposes, in compliance with applicable laws, and for use in potential claims.
  • Right to withdrawal of consent: Where we rely on consent to process your PII, you may have the right to withdraw this consent at any time.

  • Right to non-discrimination: We will not discriminate against you for exercising any of your rights under applicable privacy laws.
  • Right to complain: If you have any complaints about how we process your PII, please contact us at help@zicoto.com or use the Contact Us section of this Site. If you are not satisfied with our response, depending on where you live, you may have the right to appeal our decision by lodging your complaint with your local data protection authority.

We may need to collect information from you to verify your identity, such as your email address or account information, before providing a substantive response to the request.

In accordance with applicable laws, you may designate an authorized agent to make requests on your behalf to exercise your rights. Before accepting such a request from an agent, we will require that the agent provide proof you have authorized them to act on your behalf, and we may need you to verify your identity directly with us. We will respond to your request promptly as required under applicable law.

DO NOT TRACK SIGNALS

Your web browser may have a Do Not Track (DNT) feature, which, when enabled, transmits a notice to website owners that you do not want your online activities tracked. ZICOTO does not currently respond to the DNT signals as it is currently not universally accepted among industry participants.

CHILDREN'S POLICY

We do not knowingly solicit PII from individuals under 13 years of age. If you are accessing our Site or submitting PII to us, you warrant that you are at least 13 years of age.

If you are the parent or guardian of a child who has provided us with their PII, you may contact us at help@zicoto.com or use the Contact Us section of our Site to have us delete it.

Our Site may contain links to websites or other online platforms operated by third-party entities. If you follow links to those websites not affiliated with or controlled by ZICOTO, you should review their privacy and security policies and terms and conditions. We do not guarantee and are not responsible for the privacy or security of such sites, including the accuracy, completeness, or reliability of information found on them.

Information you provide on public venues, including information you share on third-party social networking platforms, may also be viewable by other users of our Site and/or users of those third-party platforms without limitation as to its use by us or by a third party. Our inclusion of such links on this Site does not, by itself, imply any endorsement of the content on such platforms or of their owners or operators, except as disclosed on this Site.
